"With my changing schedule, attending a traditional class would've been impossible. Brian was able to meet with me consistently for private classes during the day and tailor the class toward my previous martial arts background. I'm thrilled with the work we've done and how often we've been able train."

-John Larson - Adult Student

Now Available!

We just launched our private martial arts training program, when considering private training we want to ask you a few questions.........

Are you wanting to train in the martial arts but do not have the time to attend the scheduled group classes?

Are you wanting to train in the martial arts but do not want to deal with the issues that can sometimes come from group training settings?

Are you wanting a tailored approach to the martial arts, not just the one size fits all attitude of most area schools?

Do you simply want to train in private and deal with a professional instructor 1 on 1?

Do you want to train in the comfort and privacy of your own home?

Do you want to save money on gas and save travel back and forth to class?

If you have answered yes to any of the questions above then this program is definitely for you!

With prices that are comparable to the cost of enrolling in a group class, you can recieve two private, tailored, and personal martial arts lessons at the location of your choosing monthly.

We offer private instruction in all of our programs. This a chance for the student to work exclusively with their Instructor focusing on a specific area of training. There are many reasons for taking private lessons and many benefits as well...

Upcoming Tests

If there’s a special event coming up, such as a seminar or belt test, many students will want to schedule a few private sessions to prepare for the event. They may want to work on their material to prepare for an event. They may also want to run through the material that will be presented on their next test.

Learning More...

Private lessons are also a chance for students to learn something that is not taught as a part of our regular programs or as an extension of our regular programs.  The student may want to delve further into a certain aspect of training and the one-on-one time gives them the ability to do so. We are not only a Filipino and American Arts school... we have training backgrounds in Jiu-Jitsu, Kenpo Karate and other Martial Arts.... some that students may be interested but are not part of any of our programs - such as Kenpo Karate. This type of private time affords the student to option to expand into something new.

Make Up For Missing Time

Everyone takes some time off for a variety of reasons from an illness, to too much school work to a family vacation. Private lessons offer the the student the oppotunity to catch up on material they may have missed.

Overcome Doubts, Fears / Build Confidence

Some students opt for private lessons as a way to increase confidence and decrease any apprehension or "fear" of a certain aspect of training. For example, a student who doesn’t know a particular form may be embarrassed and reluctant to participate in that aspect of class, especially when asked to perform in front of a group. Spending additional time with them in a private lesson can help them learn the form or other techniques without the self consciousness that comes with being in a group.

Due to the "contact nature" of sparring, some students may reluctant be to participate. Private lessons can help alleviate that fear by allowing the student to learn at his own pace in a nonthreatening, controlled environment. Working on sparring techniques, combinations and movement can help prepare the student and give him or her the confidence they need to participate in a sparring class with other students in a class environment.

Private Instruction is offered by appointment only so that we can adequately schedule time for everyone wishing to take advantage of this type of training. Please contact Mr. Hunter for more information. Private instruction is offered in ALL of the programs at Hunter's Martial Arts.
